Our Farmer Cottage has always been a cozy retreat for couples and their families, but recently we knew it was time for a refresh. The goal was simple: create a welcoming, functional, and beautifully designed space that reflects the charm of Cazenovia while elevating the wedding weekend experience. With the help of local talent and a few personal touches, the cottage now feels both fresh and timeless.
Rooted in Cazenovia: A Community-Driven Redesign
We wanted the redesign to feel connected to the place we call home. That’s why we partnered with Michelle and her sister Lisa from Decor & More of CNY, a Cazenovia-based interior design store. Together, we balanced comfort, function and style in every corner.
The final look came to life through the lens of Julie Trush Pace of Raven’s Frame. Julie is another Cazenovia creative, who beautifully captured the redesigned spaces. What makes this project even more meaningful is that we are all part of Caz Life, a group dedicated to supporting local businesses. Weaving that sense of community into the redesign was just as important as the furniture or decor.
Pieces with a Backstory
We’ve always believed that the details make the difference. Throughout the cottage, you’ll find locally sourced décor, framed maps, and artwork of the Cazenovia landscape and lake. These aren’t just decorations. They tell the story of this place and tie the cottage to the land and community around it.
There’s a certain magic in knowing that the art on the wall reflects the view outside your window, or that each piece was chosen with care. The result is a cottage that feels authentic, personal, and connected.
