There’s something about an elegant summer wedding that feels easy in all the right ways. For Hannah and Drew, their celebration at Windridge Estate wasn’t defined by a timeline or a tightly packed schedule. It was shaped by how the entire experience came together.

From the early stages of planning with Lovebirds Wedding Co. to the final moments on the dance floor, every moment felt intentional and so them. It was an elegant summer wedding that truly made the most of everything Windridge Estate has to offer.

A Wedding Morning That Felt Relaxed From the Start

Some wedding days feel rushed before they even begin. This one was different.

In the Farmer’s Cottage, Hannah spent the morning with her closest friends as they got ready together. They settled in quickly and never felt pressed for time. Instead, they were able to enjoy the moment and ease into the day.

She shared handwritten notes with each of her bridesmaids, which created a quiet and emotional start to the morning.

Meanwhile, Drew and his groomsmen brought a different kind of energy to the other side of the estate. They spent the morning around the barn before making their way outside for a few competitive games of bocce ball.

For both Hannah and Drew, the morning was easygoing and lighthearted, a tone that carried forward into everything that followed.

A First Look Tucked Into a Quiet Corner of the Estate

Before the ceremony began, Hannah and Drew met for their first look in a quiet spot near the Farmer’s Cottage. It felt tucked away from everything else, which is sometimes much needed on such a busy day.

One of the things we love most about hosting an elegant summer wedding at Windridge Estate is how many different locations couples can choose from for their first look. Some spots feel open and expansive (like a first look at the Stone Wall), while others feel private and tucked away (like this one or on the Estate porch).

A Ceremony at the Stone Wall on a Perfect Summer Day

The ceremony took place at the Stone Wall, overlooking the rolling landscape of Upstate New York, with the estate standing tall in the background.

It was one of those clear, blue sky days that feels almost too perfect. The sunlight brought everything to life, especially the florals by Floribunda Designs. Soft blues and pinks added a layer of color that felt fresh and perfectly suited for an elegant summer wedding.

As Hannah made her way down the aisle, the setting did what it always does: it let the moment take center stage without competing for attention.

After the ceremony, guests naturally flowed into cocktail hour, moving between the lawn and the Belvedere Pavilion. Michael’s Hospitality served a selection of hors d’oeuvres as guests spread out, grabbed a drink, and settled into the afternoon. Some stayed close to the pavilion, while others wandered the property and took it all in.

It’s one of the things that makes an elegant summer wedding here feel different. There’s room to move, room to breathe, and space for guests to experience the estate at their own pace.

An Evening That Unfolded Across the Estate

When it was time for the reception to begin, Hannah and Drew gathered with their guests on the Bluestone Patio just outside the barn for their first dances. They shared that moment together, then each took a turn with their parents, surrounded by everyone they love.

After the dances, the barn doors opened and guests made their way inside to find their seats. Dinner was served by Michael’s Hospitality, and the space quickly filled with conversation and the kind of energy that carries into the rest of the night.

As guests settled into dinner, Hannah and Drew stepped away for a few quiet minutes together. They made their way toward the gazebo and around the barn for sunset photos with their brilliant photographer, Megan Putney. Taking advantage of that soft evening light is something we always recommend.

When they returned, the evening picked right back up with heartfelt speeches and cake cutting (from The Gingersnap Bakery). Then, without much pause, the dance floor filled. With Atlas Band leading the way, guests stayed out there from the first song to the last. It was one of those dance floors that never really slows down, just builds as the night goes on.

Why Elegant Summer Weddings at Windridge Estate Feel So Easy

There’s a reason an elegant summer wedding works so well at Windridge Estate. It’s not just the season, it’s how the entire property supports the weekend from start to finish.

With 80 private acres, the estate gives you room to spread out and move through the occasion without ever feeling confined. Guests can gather, wander, and settle in wherever they feel most comfortable, whether that’s on the lawn, near the pavilion, or tucked into a quieter corner of the property.

And because we only host one wedding per weekend, the entire estate is yours. There’s no overlap, no rushing, and no feeling like you need to share the space. It allows the day to unfold on your timeline.
