If you are looking for an LGTBQ friendly wedding venue in New York, we want to share an amazing option. Windridge Estate is a destination-styled wedding venue equipt with all the charm of a historic estate, with modern comfort.
Kristyn and Sarah live in New York City, but both grew up in beautiful Central New York. Finding Windridge Estate was just the right fit for their story. This set the tone for their wedding and many other details woven into their event!
If you think they look particularly at ease, it’s because they modeled for a Love Is Love styled shoot that was hosted just the fall before!
Dresses, suits, jumpsuits, loafers, wedges, sneakers- guests will feel comfortable expressing their style! Kristyn and Sarah’s guests brought styles worthy of NYC fashion, with the couple sporting a blush suit and two dresses. Everyone looked beautiful, enjoyed the outdoor ceremony, and danced the night away in the beautiful red barn.
The Farmer Cottage is a beautiful white farmhouse with overnight accommodations for ten and is typically used by the wedding party. Kristyn took advantage of the pristine white walls as a backdrop for all of her “getting ready” photography. As a result, her photos were filled with light! Meanwhile, her partner was just down the road at a local hotel. Sarah came later so they could have a first look just outside the cottage. This gave them time to themselves before celebrating with all of their loved ones!
With 80 acres the Estate has ample backdrop options from panoramic views to intimate garden charms tucked into the treeline. Time it right, and you can even create a portrait-ready image that includes a remarkable sunset. Sarah and Kristyn opted to maximize their time outside on their picture-perfect day and chose the tree swing, gardens, and landscapes as backdrops for their first look and portraits. Overall, this gave them the aesthetic they wanted while having a light variety to their images.
The Red Barn, the largest of the venues at the expansive Windridge Estate, is a blank canvas that can be beautifully decorated to match the dreams of the wedding couple. With napa cross-backed wooden chairs, neutral flowers, and ambient candles, Kristyn and Sarah’s reception was fit just for them! The pop of personality really stood out in the black, white, amber, copper, and brass decor. The weather was perfect, and the well-used in-house outdoor lounges matched the color palette and the design. Afterward, they continued the party with a late-night lounge including a poker table, live cigar rolling, and a whiskey bar! All in all, the effect of their day was perfect because it reflected the couple.
Located in beautiful Central New York, just east of the Finger Lakes region, the Windridge Estate wedding venue is only a short drive away from the quaint and charming village of Cazenovia. Featuring stunning views of rolling hills and lakes, you can celebrate your wedding outdoors, in the open air. You have access to three buildings to use and make your own for the weekend. The newest building is a covered outdoor pavilion called The Belvedere which can be used for a ceremony, reception, or an extra area for your guests to enjoy. Unlike typical wedding venues, the entire property is yours to use for the entire weekend!
We love love, no matter what shape it takes. If you are looking for a venue you can feel comfortable being yourself, you should certainly check out Windridge Estate!
